Your social life will dictate the kind of clothing you wear in the evening, when you go out. So when you go shopping for plus size blouses you intend to wear at night, you need to take this into account.
If you eat out a lot, but go to fairly casual restaurants, you will want suitably casual clothing. But if you go to formal functions, including dinner parties, cocktail parties and possibly even special business functions, then you will need to dress in a much more formal manner. So first of all decide what you need to look for in terms of casual wear and formal wear.
The next step will be to decide what type of fabric you enjoy wearing. Both silk and satin are classic fabrics for evening wear, particularly when it comes to plus size satin blouses and plus size silk blouses. Both satin and silk are luxurious to the feel, and they will not only look great but will make you feel special as well. What I find amazing is that there are so many different types of both silk and satin, you could have a wardrobe full of different blouses made from different variations (for example silk georgette, silk crepe and satin silk) and each one will not only look different, but will also feel different to the touch.
Generally linen, cotton and even knitted fabrics are better suited for daytime outfits. However, since style is also a factor, you will need to take that into account as well. For example a plus size silk blouse that has been designed for casual wear may be suitable for both daytime and evening functions. Similarly, a knitted fabric could be perfect for some of the evening functions you attend.
While I have a handful of plus size blouses that are suitable for a range of different evening occasions, I often buy a new one when the occasion warrants it. You might like to do that too.
